A 12-year-old child lost his life after he innocently stepped over a roadside bomb planted by the Taliban in Qarabagh district of Ghazni province, a local official said.

Wahedullah Jumazada, the spokesperson for Ghazni governor, said the incident took place on Monday, April 26, in Chergo village of Qarabagh district.

The victim was working in a house in exchange for 560 kg wheat per year, Jomazada said.

He said the bomb was planted by the Taliban.

The Taliban has not commented in this regard so far.

Located in the southeast of the country Ghazni is an insecure province and the insurgent group controls swathes of territory in this province.
