Abdullah's visit to India

Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR), Abdullah Abdullah, is set to begin a four-day visit to India on Tuesday, September 06, as part of his regional trips aimed at promoting peace process, according HCNR spokesperson.

Talking to Kabul Now, Faraidoon Khwazoon, spokesperson for the HCNR, said that the visit is aimed at providing regional support and promoting regional consensus for the Afghan peace process. He added that Abdullah will leave Kabul for Delhi at an official invitation by India.

According to Khwazoon, the HCNR chairman will discuss the Afghan peace process and bilateral relations with Indian officials during his four-day trip to New Delhi.

This comes few days after Abdullah concluded a three-day visit to Pakistan. Accompanies by a high level delegation, Abdullah received an unprecedented welcome in Islamabad and met high level Pakistan’s civil and military official, including the country’s Prime Minister Imran Khan.
